Dr. Kara Duffy
DVM
Dr. Duffy grew up in New Jersey, and knew she wanted to work with animals for as long she can remember. She attended Ross University in St. Kitts for veterinary school, completing her clinical year at NC State’s College of Veterinary Medicine. She practiced in Southern California for a short time before relocating to the Cape Fear region in 2011. Dr. Duffy has been in small animal general and emergency practice since then. She currently lives in Wilmington with her husband, daughter, 2 dogs, and 2 cats. When she’s not treating animals, Dr. Duffy loves traveling, cooking, and enjoying the outdoors in our beautiful region.
Dr. Brenda Fox
DVM
Dr. Fox is a long time resident of Southeastern North Carolina. She graduated from NC State College of Veterinary Medicine in 2015 and has been practicing small animal medicine in the Wilmington area ever since. She and her husband, Ron, have 3 dogs: Mearl, Rudd, and Hazel. She is an active volunteer with World Vets, and has participated in multiple volunteer trips to Central and South America, and the Pacific Southwest.
Dawn
Dawn is our Practice Manager that comes to us with almost 30 years of veterinary experience (20 in ER). She is a Bel- Rea graduate and loves spending time with husband, riding her motorcycle and cuddling with her 3 dogs on the couch while binge watching TV.
Jenae
Jenae is an RVT who began her career as a kennel attendant in 2017. Jenae is proud of being part of the first graduating class of the Cape Fear Community College’s Veterinary Medical Technology program. She is a self-proclaimed cat lady that has a soft spot for calicos and torties. She enjoys her downtime by listening to music, reading, and spending time with her family.
Emily
Emily moved to Wilmington from Northern Virginia in 2024 and has spent the last 10 years working as a veterinary assistant. She is currently about to graduate from CFCC VMT Program to become a RVT. She shares her home with her husband, three dogs and three cats. In her free time, she enjoys relaxing at the beach and reading.
Nicole
Nicole is a North Carolina native. She began working in veterinary medicine in 2020. In 2023 she moved to Wilmington she continue her veterinary career. In her free time, she loves collecting vinyl records and looking for shark teeth.
Darla
Darla is a passionate veterinary assistant that began her veterinary journey in 2024. In her spare time, she enjoys caring for her 3 pet birds, cooking, and has a love for classic Volkswagen Beetles.
Kristine
Rachael
Rachael moved here from Texas in 2017 and has continued her veterinary career here in the Wilmington area. She is an accomplished veterinary assistant whose experience and knowledge spans 10+years. Her passion is emergency medicine and urgent care. On her days off, she enjoys being a mom to her little boy, spending time with him and their lab/pit mix Costa and spending as much time at the beach as possible. Fueled by caffeine, Reeses, chaos and a never-ending love for wagging tails and wet noses.
Lisa
Lisa comes from a background in Emergency Medicine & General Practice. At home, she shares life with her own little crew: a Chihuahua ( Chocolate ), a Cattle dog/Border Collie mix ( Chip ), an Aussie/GSD mix ( Cookie ), & an orange cat ( Dough ). Outside of veterinary medicine, she is a licensed Tattoo Artist in Downtown Wilmington & enjoys spending her free time playing video games with her husband & getting lost in fantasy novels. Lisa is also fluent in Mandarin.
